Here it is folks, the semi final of SDI.  We are now down to just 3 castaways and after this challenge we will be down to just 2........someone will be catching a kayak very, very soon.......

The rules are just as they have always been for head to head challenges: first castaway to post the correct answer gains the point.  All answers must be posted on this thread.  You may not edit your posts.  If you make a mistake, post anew.  If you wish to challenge a question, by all means let me know but understand that we will have to address it at the end of the challenge.  After the correct answer has been given, you must all post 'ready' before I post the next question.

If you have any questions, ask now before we get started.

Some of the questions in this round may prove hard to search for - no, I will not give hints or further info.  You have to find it.  Yes, you may want to tear your hair out but you have worked hard to get this far - I know you don't expect the semi-final to be a push-over.   Wink

One final point to all the supporting CDI members out there: PMs could actually cause members to lose out on a point if they get a notification while trying to post.  Please don't PM the 3 semi-finalists or me as we work on this challenge - thank you!

2.  Give the exact carat weight (to the 1/100ths) of the diamond that recently sold at auction and shattered the previous record for price per carat that was set by the Hancock Red in 1987.
