Hey Trinkette... if you can crack this one, I was considering letting the remaining EnAblers try out the HARD riddle - I have a very special prize to send out to the first person who can crack it in an hour.  Instead of making DJ check the answers, you'd probably be limited to a set number of guesses each (5? 10?).

Not sure if your team wants the frustration... it'd just be a side activity for fun, and nothing to do with the SDI results.  Let me know....

WAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! WHY couldn't I have been here yesterday!!!!! I am SO SORRY EMJ and ALL ENABLERS – it took me just SEVEN minutes this morning to find the corrrect answer, and that included my handwriting a copy of the riddle and spending a minute or two "contemplating." Like I wrote sometime long ago, I either get these right off the bat, or I'm completely lost.  In THIS case, the oval pair was my FIRST pick (good riddle, Pirates).

Bravo to Trinkette!  I think you should ask G to post the really hard one and see if you get it - he has a special prize for you if you can nail it within an hour.  I reckon you could................

Nooooooooooooooo, I don't think I'm up to a Gemelli puzzle... I'm afraid to try! All the PRESSURE, you know.  Besides, if Gemelli devised a "hard' riddle, I've no doubt that it is WICKEDLY DIFFICULT, if not downright IMPOSSIBLE!  1087

Did you get the "showers of gold" clue?  That was the real clincher, and had nothing to do with the lack of setting.....  Grin

I might as well post the hard riddle just for giggles.

Some might say 'Uy Vey' since I'm warmer than white,
But take me to the club and I'll light up the night
The two lovely neighbours you can see by my side
Are cut the same shape, and we're more long than wide
Some prefer platinum only, but here's one more hint
Set with Au natural to bring out the tint

Yes I got the showers of gold clue after EMJ got confirmation her guesses were wrong towards the end.  I knew they were pairs after that.  For ONCE I actually got a riddle

Congratulations!  You've found the red herring!

I suspect that ring is part of the reason DJ thought this riddle was too hard.  It's not the correct answer.  Thanks to Trinkette for the idea of providing riddles that centre on one misinterpretable clue with a very unique correct answer, I.E the 'trellis technique'.

No, that ring is not the correct answer.

U - V colour is the correct solution for that clue.

here you go buddy...  got it in 10 min...  that'll be my one and only guess...  either i got it or not...
uy vey = u-v
the two lovely neighbours are cut the same shape, of course, that's the case for ALL 3 stone ring...  but that statement didn't say whether the side stones are the same shape as the center stone or not...  but they are the same shape, hence side stones...
set with au natural...  that ring is the only 3 stone ring set in all gold no platinum...  white and yellow gold baby...

BOO YAA!

Some might say 'Uy Vey'

A little sad that you had to butcher the yiddish to do it, but OK.
