HI Everyone,
A common request we get is for Natural Pink Diamonds.
In many of these cases the person asking has no idea of the scope of pricing natural pink diamonds.

For example- here's a ring from one of our picture galleries.


These photo galleries are a compilation of photos of rings we've sold over the years.

I was trying to find the records for the .92 Asscher with Pink Baguettes... couldn't.
it would not really matter what they cost back then - probably 5 or 6 years ago- as the price of pink diamonds has steadily increased.

Today, I was offered a lovely 3/4carat Emerald Cut.
The color was Natural Fancy Intense Purplish Pink.
Really nice cut.
The diamond was VS1 clarity, and like many pink diamonds, exhibited Medium Blue Fluorescence.

I'll get some photos up later, anyone want to guess the price?

I've always liked this ring with the pink baguettes. Just out of curiosity, what would that ring sell for today? 

As for the 3/4 pink EC stone, (I'm terrible at this) I'll guess 60-65K.

True, you were way off the freakin' mark  Evil, but you'd be surprised ( maybe) that many people might assume it was expensive like...$10,000 expensive.

Holy $%(&. I know what it is. It's an WM Pink. I bet it's engraved on the freaking girdle. Oh I going to faint. A PINK diamond that is an EMERALD cut. It's the epitome of desire. I want it more than Matt Damon. I feeling faint.

I think it might have some purplish in it.

Alright, well that is probably the best looking pink diamond EC I've ever seen.  I don't know how much it cost but I DO know that I can't afford it.  Okay, let me think.......$142k.  *DJ moves off to rant and rave about pink diamond prices and the fact that she's not a mega-millionaire.......*

Intersting aspect to Fancy Colored Diamond Pricing: When considering white, or colorless diamonds, there is an industry list- called the Rappaport Report.
It outlines all the different prices by color and clarity.
A DVVs1 is a few percent more than a D/VVS2 for example.

THere's absolutley NO such guide for Fancy Colors.

In the yellows, since there are far more traded, patterns emerge.

With a stone like this one, there's simply so few in the world that drawing a pattern is impossible....
