If you are a fan of everything ‘bubblegummy’, diamonds included then you must check out the fancy one that is up for sale in Chritie’s Hong Kong store. This precious ice is called The Vivid Pink, which really explains, more or less, it’s sparkling good looks. It has been set in a ring designed by graff and comes from a private collection.

The rare "vivid pink" diamond was sold in an auction for a record $10.8 million in Hong Kong December 01 2009. "The Vivid Pink" diamond set the highest per-carat auction price of $2.2 million.

1. There is loadsamoney floating in China and the Far East in general, so the chances of attracting private collectors is maximum ("professionals" will move globally)

2. Low taxes and auction costs

3. Ease of import/export

(4. There may be a couple of senior networkers within Sotheby's and Christie's that are located in HK, but that I don't know; I'm just surmising it could be possible)
