Hi everybody
a parcel came in today which seem to pique everyone's interest.

These are pure pink diamonds with quite a deep shade of pink, not a trace of brown.  They are also pretty well cut.
These diamonds are from the Argyle mines of Australia.

Many brown diamonds come from these regions.  Pink and brown being closely related, a minuscule percentage is pure pink.  Of course,  brownish pink diamonds far more common.
Size is another aspect of diamonds, which plays a huge role in their rarity, desirability and pricing.
If you think of a bunch of pebbles on the beach most of them being tiny only a few are large.  In diamonds, when it comes to tiny, we're talking about, really small stones. For example, many of the diamonds in our pink halo rings ar enar 1mm, and weigh less than .01ct each.  They absolutely get the job done, but some jewelry calls for larger stones.

When you combine the intense pure pink color, and the size, which is about 3 mm each, were talking about diamonds in these pictures that are approximately $2500 each.
Really really nice diamonds of this size that are as white as white can be would be about $200 each.
Here they are in action

I like them!!!  I read an article somewhere about how they found a new vein of pink in the argyle mines...Those must be from that vein..cool...

Did I read that here?

Interesting! What are you going to do with them?
They're going to make someone here very happy indeed, however you set them.

I'd love this with all pinks instead of the pink/white combination, on a white gold chain enhanced by a few pink DBTY.

Oh, these are incredible!!  What a gorgeous color!  I would love the look DL posted in a rose gold band.  In fact, we were out with a friend the other night who had a band that had a pink in the middle, a blue on each side, and then was completely covered in whites and it was incredible!!

director  Yo!  Money tree!!!  Where are you?Huh???  boohoo

The Pinks in the earrings are about 2.5-3mm and the white just over 2 mm, so your new stones would work nicely Smiley

I was in a jeweler's today and very much admired some "huggie" type hoop earrings with stones about this size, I believe five for each earring.  I guess the cost would be prohibitive, though-- from what you're saying, that would be a 25K pair of earrings.  (I thought their "Hearts Aflame" or whatever they're called diamonds were overpriced--but they were a tiny fraction of that!!) How would it look to use six white diamonds and four of the pinks??

Hey All!
It's been an exciting afternoon... a few minutes ago and broker came buy, and I looked at a stone that he had in his pocket.
It was a 4.00ct + , well cut radiant......GIA graded Fancy Pink, VVS2

Any guesses on the price?

I`d guess the price was somewhere between the cost of my house and a kidney or three plus a spare leg chucked in. Am I right ?

$750k if just about fancy pink. $1.1m if bordering on intense.

it's gotta be more than 1m...  i mean if a 1 carat fancy pink goes for 100k per carat...  a 4+ carat rock is much more than 100k per carat...  Grin
