Hi everyone,
I was wondering what people hope to acquire. Doesn't have to be any time soon... just some time. For me, I have 2 things that I hope (plan) on getting over the next several years. I want a baby sister version of DJ's e-ring with either a FLY or FY radiant. I also want a white asscher... not sure how to set it yet...

Of course, my are always changing but at this point, these are serious enough to go from dreaming about to planning...

Ooh...I wanna play!!!!

I am saving up for a ~2ct colored diamond in a cushion or radiant, something more rectangular in shape. I really would like a brownish one but I might also go for a yellow...not sure. There's just soo much to choose from, it's hard to pick!!

I really want a cushion!! Either in white, pink, or yellow... Also a white asscher.  I'll have to save and it seriously won't be for a while... Having seen what I bought last year? I have to be good... I want to save for a 2 carat asscher, I'm thinking solitare, and in the SAME setting as Tea's!!!!!!!!! *drool*

For the cushion? I'm thinking side stones... I normally hate pears, but I like them as side stones... Ronda's cushion is to DIE FOR!!!! My inspiration!

Also I love different bands:)

I have nothing new planned now that I decided to go for that cushion, but I do have 2 at the shop - my RB being set with a halo and my new faint brown cushion being set with baguettes.

I was planning to upgrade my FBY, but I really do love it, so I may hold off.  If I decide to stick with it and David starts making those bands in different colors, I may get a FBY one.

I also would love to find a necklace, but I am so finicky with them that I tend not to spend a lot of money on them, as I get bored of them quickly.  Necklaces are the only piece of jewelry I tend to buy fakes of, as I know that I will not wear them long.

Oh, GL, I didn't realize that you had bought the cushion!  I can't wait to see it set.  I am sure it will be stunning!  How have you decided to set it with the baguettes?

Congratulations!

Duh...just saw the other thread!  You know that is my favorite all time setting...although am starting to love my new trilliants!!

It is sort of funny because I think that trills are my favorite side stones, but I don't own any now!  My first yellow diamond was cushion (not from DBL) the same shape as my new one with trills and I loved it, but sold it when my husband and I were buying a home.

I thought about trills for the new cushion, but a) I think if they are too white next to the faint brown it would look bad and b) it is an expensive setting for an inexpensive stone.  I am actually considering resetting my FBY cushion E/W with trills, but not sure if it is worth it.

I have 2, maybe 3 rings on my wishlist:

#1 Big (~3.00 ct) yellow heart with white halo
#2 Colorless (~1.00-2.00 ct) heart with pink halo
#3 Colorless (~1.00-2.00 ct) asscher with pink halo

I've just fallen head-over-heels with all the pink halos I've seen lately! I'd love to have one around a heart!!!

Okay, no-one tell my DH about this thread.....!!  Grin

Here's my plans for 2007

1.  Complete remount of pear shape
2.  Upgrade cushion pendant
3.  Start saving for final ER upgrade in 2 years (or so)

Other than that, I am going to TRY to be a good girl - not that David will make it easy...... Grin

Just meant that I am not sure how much it would cost, and it is such a pretty ring right now that I am afraid I might regret it.  But I do LOVE trills and I think if this stone was set with them it would look better E/W.

You're very welcome DJ! I do so still love that style. I "visit" your ring (or the pics I saved on my computer)) every so often. It'll be a while until I can even THINK of getting another major purchase. I'm on "good behavior" since I just got my ring... I'll just have to live vicariously through you guys... and save....

Snoop: DO IT DO IT!!! Would love to have a ring sister! I was going back and forth with David on the phone between an asscher and the EC I ended up getting. Either one would still go in to my setting. I still want an asscher though... loved them since I first laid eyes on one (RA).

I can tell being a member of this community is bad for one's net worth.  You guys egg each other on, in a very sweet way, of course.  Jewelry co-dependents!  I am kind of hoping to stay strong and not order anything before I get the pair of earrings I just ordered, lol!

So, my asscher earrings are 1.44 tcw - the stones are still up on DBL - #R1281.  I asked David to hang them on french back wires because I don't like to wear studs (wires are more comfortable to me).  I asked David to put a halo around them with no space between the halo and asscher.  The border will have diamonds on the sides (sides were his suggestion).  Then I asked him to cover the wire from the top of where it goes into the ear to the top of the border with pave (my suggestion).  After I get them, I may decide to hang a briolette from the bottom, but I'll have to see if that's overkill.  So I have no idea what the tcw will be after completion - we'll have to ask David.

Can I ask you another question, but this is probably not the right place to ask it?  Since I'm such a newbie here, I am having a hard time with the acronyms and terms you all use.  Is there a place where I can learn them or should I just ask if I cannot figure them out?  If I read, most of the time I can figure it out, but not always.   For example:  DH.  I get that the H means husband, but the D?  Dear, Darling, Devastating, Designated?  What do you call him if he's not being a "D"?   Grin

Cheers!
Michi

Ask away Michi!  I realize we have gotten used to using abbreviations.  In fact, this may be worthy of it's own thread.........I'll start one!

The earrings sound FABULOUS!  Absolutely can't wait to see them all done!  I'll add the 1.44cttw to your total in the owners thread and you can update us on the total later.

Those asschers are going to be amazing!  I imagine the briolettes won't be necessary, as they sound very blingy!  And I love the ring in your avatar!

Those earrings are going to be spectacular Michi!  Not only did you get the asschers but it sounds like you are really doing them up to the max!
Are you have the corners set North-South/EAST-west?    For some reason, I imagine that in my head..................but if not,  I don't want to add to your confustion!!    They are going to be some really amazing sparklers.  You must post ear shots when they are done.     DH is for Dear Husband...but when your mad it him, it may stand for  Dumb, Dork, Dic*h^%d...you fill in the blank.....   LOL!!    Wink~Ronda

Jewelry co-dependents, huh? That's funny!!!!!  Cheesy

I used to think DH=dumb husband. Thought that can't be!!! I guess if you're mad at him it could stand for that too though!
