Hi rliking!
I'd like to extend a warm welcome.
You've posted the very first question on our new forum!!!

YOur request is truly a tough one....
If a diamond has brown as a modifier, we might be able to find one to fit in the $10k budget.
If it was in the budget, it would either be primarily brown, or extremely faint pink.

Here's a 1.12carat diamond which GIA called "Natural Light Pink".
This one has a price of $20k

We've contacted one of our cutters- he's sending over a few stones that might work foryou.
Please stay tuned........

I understand the budget is a bit tough so I look for smaller diamond between 0.75ct to 1ct. The pear diamond with the setting you refer is exactly what I'm looking for. I don't mind if some brown, orange or purple is added as long as the color looks great. Wait for you good new.

Well it was a busy day.
We did come up with one candidate, still well above your price range.
We'd price this one at $17,750.
It's .91 Fancy Light Orangey Pink.
I believe GIA would have given it I1, yet it's pretty much eye clean.
A lucky I1 as it were.

As the first person on the forum we'd make every effort to compromise on the price.
If the budget is $10k, I think we'll have to work with smaller diamonds.
TRhat's if you want them pretty, and pink.

David, do you mean in the lower part of the range, like a .75ct? Or do you mean like a .65ct?

Here's a .55 Marquise set into an awesome ring, in the $12k neighborhood.

What's the measurement of this 0.91 Fancy Light Orangey Pink diamond ? I1 really eye clean ? How much if it was set as you mention earlier ?
Actually, I struggled in deciding which color (pink or yellow) to buy now. If I don't buy pink now, I may even have to pay more in 2 or 3 years later. Any advice ?

Pink or yellow? That is a tough decision.

David will respond shortly. He's a late owl.

Hi rliking,
I apologize for the delay in reply- we've been quite busy here!
Still, anytime you'd like to speak on the phone, I'm available.

The diamond ihas just been imported to the US, so we're waiting on the GIA report- we should have a copy tomorrow, at the very least.
Here's my measurements, which may differ from GIA's by a little bit.
7.80 x 4.95 x 3.48

As far as the clarity: I've shown the diamond to a few people, and no one was able to notice the imperfection, while everyone was able to notice the color.
There's a feather deep inside which would be white in a white diamond- but here it's a pink feather.
It blends in.

I'll post the GIA report once we have it.

I've seen a substantial rise in the price of desirable Natural fancy Colored Diamonds- with Pinks leading the way.
Yellows do present a great alternative- you get quite a bit more diamond for your money in yellow- light yellow particularly.

For the sake of comparison, this is a .93ct Intense Yellow Diamond I posted on the site today.
MEASURES: 5.60 x 5.17 x 3.34 mm
$7,395.00

I will say the orangey pink pear is a rocking color.

Hi All,
Well, another day and still no cert.
The cutter promises we'll have it this week.
No reason to doubt them- we've known them a long time. Very good people.

In the meantime, I snapped some more photos for you

No hurry. But really want to get a more concrete idea how pink this diamond is. If this is really pink, may worth to use 2008 budget also to get this. Otherwises, may consider yellow or yellow orange pear.

Just return from long trip. A sizable pink pear is really over my budget now. I'll be interested if beautiful ladies going to order pink bands together.
