i asked about a WR / WB question in another thread...  i don't like the band to be too wide for my finger...  and i loveeeee asschers...  so i was thinking of having a solitaire asscher in my WR...  i was wondering how big of an asscher caratwise, would fit in a 4mm band?  any ideas ladies?  and gents...

I think it would be awesome!!!!!!!! I know at T&C there's of course, some men's bands, and I have seen this one, probably 4 mm (it was thinner than my hubby's 6mm) and there was one lucida diamond in the center.  It looked to be about .50 carats or less.  It was GORGEOUS!

I can see a 4mm asscher for your band!! My hubby would be jealous:)

Ace- The attached is way larger and "more" than I think you want in a lot of ways. However, it will give you an idea of what an step cut looks like in a men's band.

David would work with you regarding diamond size options for the width of the band.

Ace - I just measured my 5 stone square cut emerald band and each of the stones are ~4.2mm and it seems like a narrow band to me, if that's all you're going to wear.  Each of the square cuts are about 0.4 cts.  The micro band is  1.9 mm and it's really narrow.

Hi Ace!

We can fit a quarter carat asscher ( measures about 3.5mm) in a 4mm band.

Ace, that's an awesome idea for a men's WR/WB.  I can't wait to see what you decide to go with.  And, of course, you know you're obligated with hand shots.  LOL

Pandora - I wear that band as a RHR. It's a little too wide to wear with another ring, except maybe a tiny 1 to 2 mm plain band.

WM - I don't know how I missed that band you posted.  That is a great WR/WB.  Love the EW setting and the EC in it!

Alex,
That sounds beautiful. Asschers always strike me as so clean and crisp, they look like a great choice for a man's wb. Have you thought about a tension setting? I tried and tried to get DH to have one, but he wanted a plain plat band. It suits him, but I'd looked forward to swapping from time to time and wearing his asscher!

I've attached some not too great shots of my plat wb- it is set with a tiny princess cut. Something along the lines you were thinking? (It's lurking behing my ering in the first shot - must take better pics! Ifyou click on the photo, you can see the detail better)

DH designed it, had this idea in his head and it worked out really well (I think!). He put a lot of love and care into getting it simple but perfect.

Can't wait to see what you choose.

Jen

I wish you joy with it - picking out the perfect wedding bands should be a lot of fun. Bezel + asscher is a gorgeous comination.

Jen

PS good luck with the proposal - be sure and keep us posted!

I think that will be a nice choice for a wedding band.  Maybe you can have 3 asscher cuts set into it ....................... One symbolizing you and one symbolizing her and one symbolizing the union of both you and her! Grin   Maybe  that last one could be a yellow diamond in the middle.      See how good I am at spending your $$  .... Evil

Jen...just beautiful rings.  Wow....I love emerald cuts..........OH who am I kidding.......... I love all diamond shapes.... gimi gimi
