Hi everybody!
I love the design idea for this ring.  Yes, I love the combination of her white side Stone next to a center yellow..... but what about yellow trapezoids next to a yellow radiant?

The stones fit together beautifully
When the work order was written, somehow the words "18kt yellow gold heads" never got on the bag. So the resulting ring is all platinum

At first, I was really upset at the moron that made this mistake and I was ready to fire him!
Problem is, I really need this job... Evil

So, the question is, do we leave the ring as it is?

The setting is exquisite.
Maybe people might like it this way.
Or do we cut the ring up replacing the platinum heads with yellow ones?

The setting really is pretty, it would be a shame to chop it up...

My vote would be to list it for awhile and see what happens.  Perhaps a note in the listing saying that it could be changed?

Uh-oh, David, we have a problem.  My son LOVES the YouTube of this ring (and he likes the all-platinum setting).  And, he is ALWAYS right. He's telling me my decision in made...

It is kind of cool!   I say leave it for a while maybe add in the description that you can change them out if the customer prefers.

You didn't set Dexter in yellow gold, and he looks great!

I think it makes the yellow even more striking, if that makes sense: you look at the stones and there is absolutely NO QUESTION the color is their own, it's not being refracted from the prongs.

David
I think the ring looks great just as it is. I`d say if I thought it didn`t.

Well, I vote for leave it as it is and keep your job! Grin  I much prefer platinum prongs and it isn't as if these particular stones need any help with their colour. I think it's really, really nice and I think it will look great on Trinkette.... Evil

My vote is to leave it and see what the buyers think, I would imagine since there aren't many all platinum, yellow diamond rings to choose from that it should catch someones eye Smiley

It's a lovely ring and the stones look really yellow, even without the yellow gold heads.

I usually prefer yellow diamonds set in yellow gold, but I wear both yellow and white metals.  I would imagine if someone only wore white metal on there jewelry, that this ring would be there pick!

It looks good as it is; the double prong coming up from the gallery is very neat. And I really like the grey colour of platinum next to yellow. If these were vivids, I'd buy it (j/k - I'm running out of money as it is!)

Maybe I am just grumpy and tired this morning, but if I was ordering this ring I would want it reset, even though it still does have very yellow diamonds.  Just a thing for me.  I love looking at the rich yellow gold of the prongs on the Eagle up against the softer yellow of the diamond.  I think the white would be too jarring for me.  Still, the vast majority seem to love it, so probably not worth the additional investment at this point.

Actually, your point is possibly more relevant than mine (which was keep the plat) becuase you actually have a yellow with yellow prongs on your hand and can see irl what it does for the stone. It's really hard to make a valid judgement from pictures, however good they are. You need to see the stones in action, I think.

I'm not sure now - maybe it does need to be yellow gold?  Huh?

This is totally David's call, not least because he can see it in person.

Gorgeous stones, however they're set.

It is your personal preference in fact. What happens when you have a yellow http://diamond set in yellow gold is that the diamond looks more yellow. Since you have it in platinum, I think it is perfect! Now this is a personal opinion!
