Man, do I have to do everything around here?

« on: September 08, 2008, 06:24:57 AM »

Man, D--I can't stop thinking about this parcel. Were these only available as part of a parcel or could you cherry pick a few out of here?

I especially like the long legged one midpage. What do you guess the measurements were on that one?

Hi All!

Well, that particular parcel is gone- but I'm sure we can find some similar stones.
Generally when a cutter wants to sell the parcel, picking one stone will be at a far higher price than the parcel price.
Sometimes that is worth it, sometimes not.....

If we did find a light yellow bag, did you have a project in mind djm?

Just curious!

I'd say string a bunch of them together on a necklace. But on something that would lie flat. They are haphazard in shape, sort of the Frank Lloyd Wright stained glass look. Is that what you were illustrating djm? Or just one? I wand a parcel on a chain.

I want a parcel on a chain.

LOL WM!  It figures!!!

No, I was thinking more of one set in a small bezel, E-W with tubular yellow gold flexible chain.

I love the idea of the whole parcel forming a necklace! I saw something along those lines a few years ago, a chain made of ECs, with a great big EC pendant hanging from it. Just glorious!

Yeah, and I bet it wasn't yellow diamonds either. Right?  I know that yellow bagettes are almost impossible to find--can you imagine what this piece would look like made up? I'm thinking it would be a rare, one-of-a-kind show stopper.

I'd have to settle for a solitaire on a gold chain. I'm afraid the whole parcel would be out of my league.... Undecided

You're right, it had white diamonds on the necklace part. Each was a 1ct EC, all were E/F I think, from memory. It would be amazing in yellow.

A solitaire pendant would also be beautiful, but how about this - buy one of these little guys every time you have a little extra cash, add them when you have multiples that make sense (1, 3, 5 and so on) so the necklace can always be worn? In 20 years, you'd have have a show stopper museum piece!

ETA ignore me if I'm out of line here, I just loved that necklace sooo much and I want to live vicariously!

I remember those pink baguettes David.  I still look at the picture on the website every now and again and sigh.  They were stunning.  Now i'm being veeeery picky, but i'd love tapered pink baguettes..........how good would that be!

I do like the necklace being discussed though - EC's are just.....yummy.   Imagine the 'chain' of ec's in pink......oh i'm just torturing myself now.
