Hello,
I just wanted to recruit some advice on a diamond found for sale from a reputable dealer over seas (at least from what i  read online about them)

I was just hoping to recruit some info on why its seems lower priced the most other diamonds of its size.
Granted its only a light gray and doesn't have any GIA paper work but still it seems like a good value.

Opinions?

Hi FD,
Since Colored Diamond.info does not accept advertising, discussion of other vendors- or particular stones is against forum rules.
General questions are totally welcomed.
In general Grey in diamonds is one of those weird colors that can be good, but in a lot of cases it's not all that attractive IMO.
Fancy Grey, like Fancy White- looks a lot like stones I would want to avoid.
If a stone is very light grey- it might be hardly noticeable, yet such a trait might cause a dull appearance, which would decrease the stone's value. In such a case, a low price might not necessarily be an indication of a problem.
I bought the Light Grey diamond below because it seemed to have a slightly blue cast to me......

Thanks for the info David.
I think your stone is beautiful!  I assume its long gone at this point - based on the GIA date!  Based on the video it looks like a normal white diamond.  Well, almost!
Thanks again

David, is a grey diamond very noticable from a D-F? That color(less) range always looks kind of grey to me.

You see D-F grey because they reflect most (but not all) the light that is around them and sum it into something less bright than the surroundings but with no tint: grey. A fancy grey will be noticeably darker (and many times cloudy).

I was initially going to comment that the cut of the stone may have something to do with this, because the center stone on my ER (which is a D color) does nothing but sparkle and shine bright white.  After I thought about it for awhile, there are times when I've seen it looking silvery.  It's at that time also where I thought it looked fake.
