Should we stock this Diamond?
Hey everybody!
Here's a stone that a broker dropped off the other day.
It's interesting, no doubt.
I call the color "Natural Light Brown"

Thing is, it's really hard to coax the color due to the fluorescence- which makes the diamond look white much of the time.....

The cut is a feast for many cushion lovers.
See, you can't really categorize diamonds using terms like "Super Ideal Cut"- especially when it comers to Fancy Shapes.
Some people love all cushions, but more have a personal preference that really make a difference.
Some cushions are more like rounds, others more like rounded cornered rectangles.
This one has a shape that reminds me of a TV.
An old fashioned one. the tube.

Whatever you want to call it, you get the idea.
Then we get to the "rest of the story"
It's an I1.
Maybe I should call it SI3, because it is an eye clean I1- but peep inside with a loupe and you'll see a few nice warm carbon deposits.
You could pull thewm out n a cold winter's night and throw them in the fireplace, coal that they are.
But they are forever stuck inside your new diamond.
Oops, I never meant to sell you this diamond, and here I go calling yours already..
On the other hand, you have five fingers.
So let's shake hands.
Hi.

Seriously, the price is one thing that makes this diamond particularly interesting.
We'll be offering it on eBay for $4995.

If you are reading this, and want to buy it, it's $4000.
$1000 shipping.

No seriously.
You, as a member of our new forum can buy this remarkable diamond for $4000.Including shipping.
$1000 handling.

NO NO NO
Really $4k

Or maybe you think its a barker and we should immediately return it to the cutter- your voice counts around here!!!
Speak up!!!

Hey David - Can we get a carat weight on this baby?

I'll say that I really like the cut.  I'm sure the color must be hard to capture.

$4k for a 2ct stone is a fantastic deal and I'm loving the cut.  I'm worried about the color though - it can't seem to make it's mind up.  What do you think it would look good set in?  Would you try to play up the brown?

Hey Everyone..
The cutter made a slight error on the price.
We'll list the diamond for $5250 on eBay- but we'll honor the stupid price of $4k for CDI members.

CDI means Colored Diamond Info. How UPTOWN is that?

I love the small table on that diamond. I bet it has a high crown to go with it.

What did you decide on this one David?  I really like the cut and it is a great deal for the size.  I think that it would be nice set in a halo for sure!

Yeah, that's a good one. It will keep it in the affordable range but offer the contrast and play up the nice size.

What about putting this cushion in a halo but with brown melee? Is that hard to find?? Would that help bring out the brown tones as DJ mentioned that this stone can't make up it's mind about the color? It's cute though!

There's a thought Snooper!  Or maybe rose gold with white melee - that might bring out the color.  Hope you don't mind us throwing suggestions your way!

Oooh! Nice!! I agree with the halo split shank with colored melee to bring out the brown a bit more. How about a rose gold halo (seems like I suggest that for everything..they're just so pretty!!)...with the pink/brown melee that you just used for the asscher..

Hey guys!
I'd be dissapointed if you guys didn't make suggestions!
I so much appreciate them.

I'm liking the pink halo idea- and the split shank!

"That's the spirit", says shameless but confessed diamond promoter also known as Webmistress. (that would be me)

Actually I like the idea of surrounding it with rose gold and white melee in the "frame".

For those who don't know what Melee is

Melee- is a bunch of little diamonds. David will go into more detail but that's basically what melee means. Pronounced, MEL-ee.

Are we gonna keep it David? Can we get it at the price we love to get? Did you hold the cutter's pet hostage? Kidding, you guys. David loves a deal but he never browbeats the cutters.

David, if you have some pinkish brown melee, could you place some next to this one and snap a photo? I wonder if it will make it look more pink

Ya'll know (see, practicising my 'american') how I love flour.....and the shape is really sweet...and $4K for a 2ct....I mean wow.

But the colour isn't doing it for me - it looks kinda odd....i'm sorry!!  And yeah, it's cool...but would it sell from a picture - do you know what i mean?

Arrrgg...I feel like a rat disagreeing with everyone Smiley
