No PtyMom, you didn't miss a thread.  You see, I fell for a certain little flower ( R3177), but unfortunately, it was going to take too long for me to save up for it. ( I am so impatient!!!)   So anyway,  I decided to recreate it on a smaller scale.  This stone is a little lighter and a bit smaller than the one used in  R3177...but in total, it will be at half the price, which suits my "need it now" mentality.  I just finished paying for this gorgeous ray of sunshine today...and it's coming tomorrow!!!  YAY!  bliss

The diamond is  (R3708)...it's a .73 ct. FIY.  I think I can get this flower started by the end of Winter, so by Spring, I'll finally have my flower!        toothy4             angel            Grin

THAT ONE?  That must be my second favorite yellow of all time! Itīs absolutely amazing! My favorite looked just like it, but it was a .74 ct FIY cushion.

 I think they were listed side by side at one time... SIGH. Iīm officially very jealous but so happy that it went to a CDIer and Iīll get to see the finished ring.

As for mounting it, I think I wouldīve picked exactly the same setting for it. Itīs going to be perfect, perfect! Iīve also been leaning towards a deeper yellow for my upgrade and ocassionaly I dream of flowers. Other times itīs solitaires and other times itīs uber set double halos. I have 3 (yes, THREE!  Sad ) years to plot and save...

That was a great catch lovecolor.  notworthy Canīt wait for your spring bloom!

Well, I was outbid.

The 110.03ct Sun-Drop diamond sold for $12.3 million yesterday at the Sotheby's Sale of Magnificent Jewels in Geneva. The auction house said that the price paid, for what is considered to be the largest known pear-shaped Fancy Vivid yellow diamond in the world, set a world auction record for yellow diamonds.
