I need a new wedding set.  Mine has been through the ringer (literally) and is mashed.  Reshanked and 2 heads (or was that 3) plus a repair over 13 years.  So who wants to get their creavity flowing?

Wants:
White gold
wide shank
sleek but not modern yet still traditional
Currently have a semi eternity band on either side of the E-ring and would like to incorporate the concept

This is similar to my wedding and anniversary bands.  It doesn't need to be the same rings (the stones are not the best but I love them for sentimental reasons)

Love this but not sure about a bezel set stone. How could it be altered for prongs?  And no melee. The poor things wouldn't survive.

Ooooh, exciting!

I'm a little bit in love with bezels right now and I think I'd go for that ring just exactly as it is if I was having a re-set. I'm sure the uber-guys could come up with a design that fits the bill.

However, if you're not sure about a bezel but want something with sleek, fluid metal work, how about the Lucida?

I have one (mine is rose gold) and it gets admired a lot. It's very sleek and shiny and the metal work is impeccable. (Now I know how hard that is to do, I look at this ring with new respect)!

Then, you can bling it up a little with the bands, as you mentioned.

What size and shape is your centre stone?

How Exciting to design your new set!  When I saw that you liked the uber setting with the knots, I thought of exactly what Mrs. M brought up.

Oooh Shiba, how fun!

The picture you posted of the pink uber ring is phenomenal.  If that setting worked with prongs it would also be beautiful. I´m wondering the same thing as Mrs. M, what are the specs on your stone? I would think this setting would look great with a larger stone, but with a smaller one, the details of the underbelly would probably be lost.
I´m planning my dream RHR (saving process!) and I thought about that exact setting in YG without the melee. But as I probably won´t be able to afford anything larger than a 0.75-1.00 ct, I´m thinking this wouldn´t be the option for me.

I´m also looking at sleek but the only thing that comes to mind is the double bezel look. (which you´re unsure of...) Maybe that´s too modern for your taste? Hmm--- Maybe a basket with a wide band like this?

White gold, check
wide shank, check
sleek, check
would it accomodate accompanying bands? dunno, actually...

I love the uber ring!  I really do, with or without melee.

Like you I really worried that wearing a diamond halo would not be fore me and my lifestyle.  I opted for the double halo.  I love it!!!  Just curious what are your uncertanties with a bezel?  Admittedly I was a bit unsure as well, but it is the best thing I've ever done!

I really think the lucida style with a thick band was my 2nd choice if I was going with a simple solitaire.  In fact I still long for a ring like that... I have too many rings I want though LOL

The Lucida is actually a setting I was considering but maybe with a tweek to allow the bands to sit flush.  My current setting is a 4mm plain cathedral .  With both bands the ring is 9mm across the top, 7mm on the bottom-quite wide.

But I really like the uber setting. Agreed that the details may be lost.
I do have a ring (or 2) with halos but I am so hard on my rings that I fear wearing them as daily drivers.  They are worn 24/7 except when playing sports or gardening.  Bashing them in the washig machin is a nearly

My current stone is a 1.08ct J RB but hubby has recently (as in yesterday) told me to look into an upgrade! Banane13  I would love a 8mm H-I hawk eye clean stone.

As far as the bezel, I dont know what holds me back.  I think it is because my stone has some warmth and next to a white bezel, it would draw attention to it.  I flip flop on changing my UV radiant to a YG bezel, to try and get a little more colour out of it. But I really love those shaped prongs.

Ooooh an upgrade would be fun to plan too!

I do understand the concerns with a bezel and a J colored stone.  That is tough.  If you upgrade would you stay with a RB?

I think so- likely a 60/60.  But I am not opposed to other shapes like radiant, roval, or cushion as long as they are on the shallower side.  My preference is the larger face up.  Of course if a stone was larger than 8mm, and in my budget, I wouldn't say no either.  haha.  I think I could go for a J but with some fluor. so it looks a shade or 2 whiter- that might be easier on the budget.
