Hi, all.  David, I've been browsing the online catalog, and I have some questions about a couple of loose diamonds that are listed there:

#2619 -- L, Faint Brown, GIA, 1.01, VS1  -- measurements?

How can it be L color and Faint Brown at the same time?
Does that just mean it's a "soft white" tending toward brown
rather than yellow undertones?

#1190 -- L, GIA, 1.07, SI1 -- measurements?

These sound like the type of stone I'm looking for.  Could we have more photos?  Please Smiley

HI Suzy!

It's so difficult to keep everything current!

R2619 was sold.
R1190 is also long gone.
As soon as I post this, I am going to refresh the online catalog!

BUT FIRST- let's answer your question
How can it be L color and Faint Brown at the same time?
Does that just mean it's a "soft white" tending toward brown
rather than yellow undertones?

A diamond graded "D" color will have no color whatsoever.
As we move on down the color scale, there's a little more tint.
As the diamond gets closer to "J" color, we can start to identify the shade of the tint.
Most of the diamonds we see lean towards a slight yellow. n the case of the oval you mentioned, GIA noticed that the tint was light brown- ergo their grade.
