Hi Everyone!

Okay, we get many PM's from you guys asking for advice or thoughts on diamonds and pieces, so we thought it only made sense to start a series of threads with the top picks of WM, Annie, Snooper and myself.  Each thread will have ideas in a different price range.  Obviously a fabulous place to send the DH too......... Cheesy

We will share with you our thoughts on the stone/pieces we have chosen as well as perhaps offering setting suggestions or linking to items that co-ordinate well.

We hope you enjoy our 'Mod Picks' threads!  Recommendations in the $5,001-$10,000 range coming shortly.......

You would think it would get easier to pick as the price range increases........it darn well doesn't!

Okay, first pic would have to be the pink halo earrings (item #R2077).  I just can't shake these babies from my mind.  I love the styling, the drop, the white halo and HELLO!!!  The pink diamonds!  I would love to see these go to a CDI'er - mainly because I want to live vicariously!  Seriously though, if you want something really special, these fit the bill.  You are not going to see someone else wearing the same earrings, that's for sure!  $5,495.

Next up is the oval 3 stone (item #R1059).  You could say that I'm a closet oval 3 stone lover.  I often go to the site and drool over this one and the larger one.  There's just something about the shape that draws me in and 3 ovals alongside each other sings to me.  Classic, elegant and understated.......3 things I am not!  LOL!  A 1.05ct W-X oval is the center piece here.  With a length of 7.85mm, she faces up real well for her size - another little fact I just love about ovals!  0.66ctw of F color side stones and set in platinum and 18k yellow gold.  $6,600.

Finally it's going to have to be the 3 stone asscher band (item #R555).  3 icy white asschers totalling 2.38cts - the center slightly larger than the two sides, all set in a custom made platinum setting.  *sigh*  Asschers are massively popular and it's one of those cuts that is never out of style.  All E-F color and cut beautifully.  $9,995.

Great idea to start these threads DJ!   I will be looking forward to seeing what the other gals choose.     I would have never have guessed that you would have chosen those pink cushion earrings for this price range!! Wink Grin

Hoping you do join it! You are the one who 'lives with' the jewelry, and you would be the one to know the pieces the best...

I think I might have to duel DJ. I knew she'd dive right in and take those pinks as her pick! I'm thinking about not even speaking to her. How about that for catty girl behavior.

I'll get back to you guys with my picks. And I'd love to see what you'd pick, David. Have at it.

Oh my I forgot about that.  Grin How could I since at least 2000 feet of space is dedicated to it--probably one of the most entertaining threads of all CDI time. So I will not challenge you to a duel but will relent on the grounds that you have worked hard for the privilege of putting them on your list.  I'm still thinking.

DJ- Is there a limit?

I will come back and modify mine to say why it had me at "hello". It's a visceral response for sure and I need a moment to put it into words.

No limit - I thought 3 each would be perfect without drowning everyone in choices but if something extra just screams that you need to post it, you go right ahead.  I love those salad bowl studs by the way - great, great choice.  This wasn't easy, huh?

It wasn't easy at all. I almost picked snoopers but I thought I'd leave that for her so that eliminated one. It was a tough one. I do think it could border on overkill. So I'm sticking to my picks.

Let me start with one...
I love this guy

Click on the photo to get to the DBL page- somehow this one slipped through the cracks for over 5 months.
It was here, and not listed on the site.
Now it's a new item!

My big brother is working on systems to make sure all the diamonds and jewelry here is on the site.
He just did a "mass upload of our new gemstone earrings.....

This page is soooo colorful.. Kudos to my big bro!

First off, I would like to second Snooper's recommendation of the emerald ring.  It was most definitely going to be on my list.  Absolutely LOVELY in person.  It seriously blew me away.

Moving on to my list:

I must start with a ring that completely had me from hello - the Tropicana.   This one's a one of a kind.  That orange is screamin', and it's just such a perfectly fun ring.

$7,495.00

I tried this next on on for BigRed, and it really is beautiful.  After all the brown diamond mania going on, I can't believe this bad boy is still in stock.  The center stone is 1.55ct, and the ring looks really substantial.  I'm going to include a photo of the loose stone because I think it better captures the beautiful flashes of orange which are there in real life.

**Ack!  David stole this one while I was posting, but I'm keeping it anyway!  Wink

$9,900.00

My final pick is this Fancy Intense Yellow pear with shield shaped sides.  An intense yellow diamond, over a carat, with brilliantly unique side stones for under $10,000?  Um, yeah.  I think this one is classic while still having some spunk to it!

$8,999.00

Asschers and emerald cuts look good in brown. It really highlights the concentric folds.
