First up is my favorite for this price range. Its a .35ct G VS1 Round Brilliant Diamond Split Shank with lots of sparkle R3718. I love the scale of this beauty. This ring has a ton of bang for the buck including a surprise diamond on the side!

If one of my sons asked their girlfriends to marry them right now, I'd steer them in this direction. The added bonus is that this ring like most everything from DBL is 100% upgradable.

My DW would've loved this as her first ER -- I was a poor college student when I asked her to marry me--she would've been happier than a...erm...you fill in the blanks...lol.   Wink

Next up is this 1.04 ct Asscher cut Fancy Yellow Brown R3698...

I can totally see this made up as a ring with a baguette halo. I love step cuts with baguette halos...someone had one made up once and I thought it was spectacular.  Was it Michi? I can't remember. Can anyone find a photo?

Finally, I really like the DBL earring jackets. These have fallen off the radar in the last few years but I have to say that every time DW wears her pink diamond with rose gold earring jackets I always marvel at the craftmanship. Check out the side view of these babies.  I would love to make up a pendant with a similar halo to go along with these....or even a rose gold/pink diamond DBTY.

Geesh...I need to moonlight or something.

Bottomline...these earring jackets will not disappoint. They look fabulous!!!

For a round that ring is absolutely gorgeous.  I am just not much of a round fan but this one has it done all right IMO.  Perfection!

That asscher too, been a huge favorite of mine as well.

This price range is where I have most of my loves...

That ring is gorgeous!! Now picture that as an engagement ring, and the matching halo earrings as a wedding present!!

That Asscher is the perfect root beer color.  Hmm, suddenly feeling a bit parched Wink

Okay, I've had a think about this, and my first two picks are maybe a little bit of a cheat, since I already own them, but here they are:
http://rockdiamond.c...4kt-white-gold-r3261

First pick, because I absolutely would not be without them now - these gorgeous hoops. I wear them most days and they're perfect. Perfect size for every day, yet still blingy enough for a special occasion. Not too heavy on the ear, but the setting is very nicely crafted. The diamonds are gorgeous. Well cut, sparkly, clean and white. All things considered, this is the perfect (and I mean perfect) pair of diamond hoops.

There's a carat weight and diameter choice to suit most tastes, but if the combination you love isn't there, we can always put it together for you. DBL hoops are awesome, awesome I tell you! Grin

Next pick is my own ring, which of course is marked as sold.

I'm putting it out there because it's a fantastic example of how YELLOW a stone can look when it's set to bring out the colour. It's in our Halo 1 setting, so if you have a liking for this and want something similar, we can put it together with a high quality casting and a light yellow stone, to look like a million dollars.

http://rockdiamond.c...-many-diamond-shapes

My point here is don't be put off if the thing you adored is gone. The resources at David's disposal pretty much mean we can make whatever you want, to suit your budget. The casting semi-mounts are a good way to keep to a budget and still have something gorgeous and the lighter stones (be they yellow or brownish pink or whatever...) will give up the maximum colour in a setting like this (and you all pretty much have to agree with this now, since I'm using my own ring as the example... Grin)

My third and final pick (if only - I actually want 'em all...) is this one:
http://rockdiamond.c...-vs1-great-cut-r4008

I'm choosing this for purely selfish reasons - I want an emerald cut pendant. My DBL studs are emerald cut, my engagement ring is emerald cut, I have an asscher cut band, it's high time I had a step cut necklace.

I don't really want a matchy set, so I'm picking this one for the lovely buttery colour. I'd set it in yellow gold and maybe add a white or vivid yellow halo if I could swing it. The colour makes this one nice value, it's VS2, so plenty clean, and it's a nice size for its weight - not too spready, not too deep. Just lovely. The facet pattern is similar to my engagement ring stone too, which appeals to me.

Sigh. I'm talking my self into this one... Evil

I've always loved that yellow oval bezel set ring Jen. I'm partial to ovals set east-west.

I so agree with you Jen on the hoops statement.  I have a different style, but about the same diameter (smaller diamonds since I wanted a very thin hoop) and OMG they are fantastic.  They are in my ears daily and just perfect.  Not too big or small and the safety clasp is great to have.  I don't regret buying mine either.

That emerald is perfect too.  Just a beautiful classic emerald that would look perfect as a pendant... not helping am I? Wink

Wow Jen! Your EW Ring is just gorgeous, I had seen it before. Looks absolutely beautiful, that bezel and halo... yet something more to think about!  Grin

I could definately use some hoops. I´m getting a little tired of wearing my studs all the time. But first things first.... my yellow ring!

Thank you! I'm still in the honeymoon phase with this ring, only had it a couple of weeks.  Grin

The hoops, though. Hoops. Not entirely sure what I did before I had 'em. I mean, I have studs and some dangles, but the hoops are Just The Thing. I have never looked back and have longer term plans to set my studs either as sidestones or as something entirely different.

HA!

I notice you call me out but don't say a word to the WM!  Roll Eyes

I've loved this ring for awhile, and at $1,195, it fits easily in this budget range.  I love the contrast between the brown center and the yellow brown sides.

How about some earrings to match your ring pick, djm?  They would certainly make a lovely set.

My last pick is this little guy.  I love orange ovals.  They're my thing.  I would do a flower type ring like the Tropicana ring I loved years ago.  Smiley
