I was looking at some of the necklaces over on DBL and would like to know how you achieve the flexibility between individual stones, or flowers in the case of http://rockdiamond.c...k-diamond-flower-165.  I like the invisible setting on the http://rockdiamond.c...mond-tennis-necklace as well.

Thanks, David! david

Great question bloo!

The flower necklace is a totally handmade piece- which is one of the most flexible necklaces I've ever seen- it flexes in a number of directions.
The Riviera ( all diamond) you linked to is also flexible- but inly in one axis- still very comfortable.

The setting on  the flower necklace- without the stones- is about $8000......

The flower necklace is one of the loveliest pieces of jewelry I've ever had the pleasure to handle. It is not stiff in any way.

Thanks, D and T!  rock

Now, if I could only learn to (s)pell (s)tones... Roll Eyes

So, when I come to you, D, and want a round, an asscher, and the bloojay tied together like a Riviera so they can flex on 1 axis while suspended on a chain from the round, which is floating. (take a breath)...AND that I want little claw prongs for all the diamond settings, AND no metal showing - you'll know what I mean?

Is it a viable request?  Evil

I think I got it - more or less - after reading the description for the 17th time. I think too much of a good thing...

LOL!

I saw that necklace, the flower one. It's one of the most exquisite man-made objects on earth.

Think?  This is what it would look like (sort of), only suspended on a chain.  I'm thinking about 15-18 mm long.

I only wish I had seen that flower necklace in person.  Just the pictures are fabulous.

My daughter agrees. She saw it over two years ago (she was just about to turn 4 at the time), and still now when she sees a photo she says "that is MY necklace!"

I wish. If I buy tiaras for everybody, I will buy that for her. So far the lottery is showing no signs of cooperating, though.

OK, so I understood correctly what you wanted. The issue is the relative size; probably those stones are a whole blue jay's size (the type with bones and feathers), and can stand that type of stacking as well as being gracefully gravitating roughly straight down with the occasional sideways tinkle. Much smaller stones would look... hm... not so graceful?

I was not crazy about this necklace when D first showed it, but I was lucky enough to try it on and I fell in crazy mad love! It is the definition of "exquisite", and I do believe I may have shed a few tears when I had to hand it back over...
