HI Guys,
Yes this is exciting!!
Yay for decisions  ura1

I know no matter what it will look positively beautiful!  Just because I am curious, how long does it take to do a custom piece like that?

Average time on custom jobs is 3 weeks- many times done in two.....

Thanks David!  That's pretty quick!  I have a horror story from a friend and it took about 7 weeks to get hers made.  And the setting was still so bad that the main stone was lost 4 days later Sad

Ooh, that is horrible! What a nightmare. Good thing it's not going to happen to mine. Wink Whew! So what did she end up doing, clgwli?

And yes, it is good to have the decision made.

Atlantys it is a long bad story and they are stuck with nothing now.

The short of it is the diamond was supposed to be insured by Red Box for a year.  The seller never filed the paper work to have it insured.  My friends couldn't insure it themselves because they got the paper work only weeks after the stone was lost.

They tried more than once to work something out with the store.  Sadly her fiance had closed the credit card he charged it to so they can't fight for him either.  They tried going to the media and it fizzled out after appearing once in a paper.  Here's the story written.  The writer failed to mention that the jeweler didn't give *any* paperwork with the ring until after.

They hadn't added it to their home insurances or another private insurance because they thought they were covered.  Because obviously like I did, the moment I had my new ring in hand, I went online and created a policy for mine.

Next option is to go to court, but the amount of money involved is less than the fees it would be to fight this.

So short of it is she has no stone.  I have an older CZ I have offered her and she might take it until they can afford a stone they like.

The other crap part is while taking her setting to professionals to look at it, they noted that the pave work was shoddy and the whole cost they spent on the ring is almost a waste.

It sucks for them, but I don't know what I can do to help.  You know it makes you wish you had unlimited funds so you could help them create a beautiful whole new set for them.

The guy now won't even take their calls and won't accept a certified letter.  He's gotten some bad press though.  He obviously doesn't care.  And he used to be friends with my friend's fiance.  Not anymore...

Clgwli

That is such a sad story, but I always believe in fate this person will get his comeuppance in the end and he will be on the other side.
You will have to introduce your friends to DBL and when they can afford to buy they will be treated to a dream that they so deserve.

Isn't it positively horrific?  I mean this is one of those stories you cannot make up it's so bad.  You can imagine how bad it is to go from thinking your stone was insured to finding out it wasn't.  I remember my first question when I noticed she wasn't wearing her engagement ring was "Was it insured"?  She was okay with it at the the time because she thought it was.

And then when they found out that the jeweler was stringing them on for a month or so... well it stinks.

She's looking for another cushion cut or maybe a radiant and I told her that if she is willing to look online in the future, she should come here.

Sorry to hijack talking about it.  I really wish he had picked someone who wasn't a friend.  Bad thing is I think since he's such a nice guy that he probably got ripped off money wise too Sad
