I'm having a very hard time finding a nice cushion.  Looking to stay under $10,000 for a 2 carat cushion, don't mind a I-L as long as it faces up pretty white, and most importantly, is a nice cut with none of that "crushed ice" appearance.  Is it that hard to find a nice cushion?

Man, do I have to do everything around here?

Hi and welcome House42.

I'm positive that David can find you a nicely cut cushion provided you are patient enough while he does his magic.

Did you need the diamond by a specific date?

Here is a cushion that is currently for sale. I've always thought this one had an amazing cut to it. It is not a 2 ct but I'm sure one can be found that you will be crazy for.

I'll post this shout out to David so that he doesn't miss this post. Best of luck to you and we look forward to your presence here on CDI.

Welcome to the forum, House42.  David only picks diamonds with great cuts, so I'm sure he can help you out.

Welcome to Cdi House42!

In fact, we just got a few new amazing 2ct plus cushions with a slight tint, and the price on each will be be around $10,000.
Both diamonds are really well cut.
I will be able to post photos of both of these on Sunday, or Monday

I did want to ask you about "crushed ice"
Sometimes we use that expression to describe a realy well cut diamond with a lot of sparkle.
The diamond that djm posted has that look.
Another type of cushion would be like this one

Do you like the type of cushion that looks kind of antique, like the one I posted?

This is more than $10K, but it fits your other parameters:

Don't need it by any specific date.  What I mean by the "crushed ice" appearance is I don't want my cushion to look like a radiant cut.  I've seen many cushions with that crushed ice in the center of the stone and they just aren't as brilliant as cushions without.  I like the big, chunky flashes of light a well cut cushion will give you, rather than a crushed ice cushion that will give you little flashes here and there.

There's a really good description of this on another website, but I don't think I'm allowed to post links to other sites.  They show 3 cushions against each other, one having that crushed ice appearance and the difference is amazing.  The crushed ice cushion has the least fire of all of them, and it is a very well cut stone, but again, just not as much sparkle.

Hi All!

We post photos extensively to assist people looking for stones.
This page shows 24 different cushions.
If you would look at this page, and let us know which of these is most like the ones you want, that would assist us in showing you stones you might love.

In my opinion, many different types of cushions can be quite appealing.
As House42 mentioned, there are a lot of different ways to describe a cushion.

Words are sometimes inadequate- but I'll give it my best shot:
The way I see it, well cut cushions that are faceted like radiant cuts have more sparkle, while stones like the one I posted above, have more glitter.

I would say that it sounds like the other site was trying to discourage one type versus the other- based the impression you got.
There can be gorgeous cushions of both types!

Those are beautiful cushions, some I like over others.  I guess it all comes down to personal preference.  But the difference in the video was impossible to deny, and all were excellent cuts.  I personally prefer larger/chunkier flashes of light versus little glitter type light.

HI All!

House and I had a look together at the video she was referring to.
The video in question showed the diamonds on a white pad.
I feel that you need to see the diamond with light passing through it- which is how we shoot our videos...

I promised her a video of a new cushion we just got in.

Um......WOW.  That is one stunning cushion David. Can't believe that's an M color - it looks SO white in the video although I do see some color in the other photo. I actually prefer a warmer stone - this one looks BEAUTIFUL!
House, I know what you mean about chunky vs. glittery. I actually see both in this stone...love it!

Soooooooooooo......how much is this one?
