 david

I just saw your new item, R2751.  Stunning, stunning, stunning!

Question for you - you mention in your discussion about this diamond on the DBL site that GIA only grades ROUND diamonds between D and Y-Z for cut.  Why is that?

 Huh?  Mikla

You make me laugh, T!  It's all yours . . . I'm just interested in the reason that GIA only grades non-fancy colored rounds for cut.  I'm no match for you and I know you love your RBs!!

Just a reminder...  david

Is this an answerable question... or, it is "just the way it is" because after the alphabet tints, when diamonds are fancy, color becomes the primary focus?

HI Everyone,
I suppose there are a number of reasons.
For one thing, round diamonds in Fancy Colors are so rare.
But probably more to the point is that the "Cut Grade" is really for people looking for the traditional round colorless diamond.
