Hi David

I'm looking into my eternity ring and Diamond Junkie directed me to this thread

http://coloreddiamon...arance-mill-grain/0/

Can I be a pain and drill you with some questions  Smiley

How many mm thick/wide is the ring ?

If possible, could it be done with sapphires and diamonds ? Alternating like this ?

Thanks so much in advance

Hi Claire,
I think the sapphires would look amazing, and yes, that's totally possible!

In terms of the width of the band....maybe we can impose on DJ to measure her friend's ring for us.....I don't recall exactly which model she's got......

Imagine those as wedding bands, diamond + spouse's birthstone, and diamond+your own birthstone as a stacking alternative to honking e-ring when you need to wear something with a low profile....

Hugs to you Clare! Lots of sapphire fans here, me included, and I could see a lot of folks adding to their delicate band collections with the ring you described (also with rubies, perhaps a good green sapphire for emerald lovers, and OOOOH Purple Sapphire!!!!!)

Ohh Ahhh - I think this coloured band concept has a few fans out there !

That pic is a ring from a well known jewelery store but I don't want to purchase from there because the prices are so inflated (not sure about the US) but prices for their jewelery is most certainly inflated in Australia.  For example .. Its $3200 in Australia and $2000 in the US .. Given that the exchange rate is .90 to $1US - that is a huge mark up ..

Ok End of Rant  Wink

As for the progresss - its early days yet - DJ is going to ask her friend how many mm's wide the ring is so I can see if its thin enough - I'm really wanting about 2mm - ish .. such a stunning ring and hopefully look nice and delicate against my solataire.

Okay, she said it is definitely closer to 2mm than 3mm - somewhere between 2 and 2.5mm.  Hope this helps!
