Hello,
I am on the hunt for the perfect engagement ring. I have totally fallen in love with Daussi rings and tried on several in local jewelry stores, but they are normally way out of our budget. I found Diamonds by Lauren and was so excited to see so many Daussi rings with great prices. I am a little nervous about not seeing the rings in person. I have kind of chubby hands and wear a size 7 ring. I really would love a ring that looks substantial on my larger fingers. I also have very very fair skin, and I was curious how an M color stone would look against pale coloring. I have been coveting ring R3249. Of course the model has skinny tan fingers so its hard for me to tell what it would look like on me. Has anyone seen it in person? I would love to get the scoop on what it's like.
Thanks!

Hello!
I tried on a few of his rings that were the cushion center with a halo but none had side detailing the same as R3249. I didn't write down the stats on any of them (mostly because they were all out of our price range) but I believe they were all around just under a 1 ct center and I color. I did notice that the more square shaped cushions looked more substantial on my finger than the elongated ones. All the Daussi rings I've seen so far have been beautiful, it's just so hard to relate to the size of a ring over the internet. Do you by chance know the dimensions of the halo? I thought I might be able to compare the size to some of my other jewelry to help put it more in context.

Hi FutureMrs,

I've never had the pleasure of trying on this ring, but it is beautiful!  I love the large facets in the diamond and I love how the diamonds are mounted on the halo as well as on the side of it and the sides of the shank.  It looks very substantial...and for my size 8 finger, I'd have no worries about this ring getting lost on my finger at all!  The M color is a soft light yellow shade which I have recently started liking.  The contrast of the white halo diamonds with the tint of the colored center is interesting.  It has a soft yellow pastel contrast.  I don't have light skin, so I can't answer your question about it suiting yours...but if you can't find this color in a store near you to see if you like it with your skin tone, maybe a trip to New York to see it in person can be worked out???   It probably will just be a personal preference, but if you like it on the website, you'll probably love it on your hand as well.  I wish you luck with your search and if you do get this ring, please post some pictures!    Smiley

I'd say it's abut 10mm square.
This is a huge looking ring.
Unfortunately we have to correct the prices on a lot of items- this is one. But the good news is that we'll honor the old price of $5495 if you want the ring.

I think this type of color will look good on most skin tones.
Of course it's a matter of taste.

Hi FutureMrs!

Welcome to CDi...I'm new here, too! I am impatiently awaiting the shipment of my ER to-be this week (as soon as @$!! Paypal releases the funds back to checking..grr, and when my sweetie decides to spring it upon me), but it is R3623, if you want to look it up on the search function. I wear a size 6.5-7 and don't do well with overly petite rings, and I have fair skin, so I'll be sure to post a picture pronto Smiley FWIW, though, I have tried on rings similar in dimension to R3623 elsewhere, and they look substantial enough on my hand. The one you're looking at is twice as big, so I don't think you'll have a problem!

Oh, and I literally looked at THOUSANDS of settings before deciding on mine, and talked to dozens of jewelers and store clerks before talking to David on DBL.  There is NO comparison. I always feel like his only customer whenever I call. Good luck..and go snap up that gorgeous ring! I have never seen another one like it, and trust me, I have seen a TON of rings lately Wink

Congratularions and welcome! Wow, thatīs huge, I donīt think it would look small on anyone, really.

And the M color looks pretty in person, I saw one at a local store, however, Iīm fairly olive skinned so I canīt say what it would look like on fairer skin.

Gorgeous ring, though! Grin

Hi FutureMrs!

I LOVE Daussi rings too, I can completely understand why you'd fall in love with them!

If you take a look around this thread
http://coloreddiamon...-all-week-folks/175/

you'll find some fun pics I snapped on all the Daussi rings we had in stock at the time!

Thank you for all the input everyone! It's such a huge decision to choose a piece of jewelry that I have to wear every day for the rest of forever!

Mrs. Mitchell is the three stone Daussi you have on your ring finger in that picture R3916? That is actually the other ring we have been looking at and I was curious how it looked on.

PtyMom, that one sold a while back, I think. It was a beautiful ring. The man from Daussi had visited the office the day these photos were taken. Honestly, that was a highlight of my life so far... Grin

FutureMrs,I'm pretty sure that the ring in my picture isn't R3916. I checked its listing and it was listed quite a while after I was there, so it must be a different ring. Have to say though, it's very, very similar - I really did have to double check. If you like the look of it on a finger, R3916 would not disappoint.

Ooo the Daussi that you are looking at is gorgeous and I am sure it would be a nice size on a size 7 finger.  I own a Daussi halo ring with a .72ct cushion and wear a size 7 ring-I think with the halo, the size works on my hand.  As far as the color, one of my rings from David is a N color cushion and I have far skin and the color looks nice as well.  Good luck with the decision and come back with lots of pics Smiley

I'm sure you're right! I've just been waiting for a long time so I have it in my mind that I have to find the perfect ring. I would be interested to hear from other Daussi owners if anyone has had problems with the pave stones falling out? I can sometimes be a little rough on my jewelry and I read in another thread that pave can be a little more fragile. Thoughts?

It's one of these things - pave will very occasionally fall out of the finest rings, it does happen. If it's going to upset you, or if returning the ring for repair causes problems, then it's something to bear in mind when you're choosing. Although we stand behind them and offer our usual lifetime warranty, we don't manufacture the Daussi rings in-house.

I live in the UK, so returns can be a little more difficult (not impossible, but not something I want to do too often) so I've never chosen a ring with micropave. The best made micropave ring in the world can pop a stone if it's stressed in just the right way. However, I got brave, and got a halo with micropave on the shank a few weeks ago, made in the DBL factory. The ring looks sturdy. Heck, the ring looks bomb proof.

At the end of the day, it's about your comfort levels. If your dream ring has micropave, you may have to accept that it will need to be repaired from time to time (or maybe not - we have literally hundreds of DBL rings out there that have never lost a stone).

Does that help or hinder? Feel free to email me or David if you want to discuss in more detail.

I cannot to see what you end up with.  I love all of those Daussi rings.  I am pretty rough on my rings, and so far so good.  I have lost a stone here or there, but I get them replaced and then carry on.

I swear I need to STOP looking at the DBL website! I keep finding different rings I love (which just makes my decision even harder). I made the mistake of looking at the trade up specials... R2871?! Has anyone seen this in person? I love the double shank! Its a smaller center stone, so I would be curious what the outer halo measured and if it would look too little on my chunky fingers. A hand shot would be fantastic if possible? And R2728 too. It looks so great in the video! Ahh. I need a Daussi ring for every finger.

What about this guy?
http://rockdiamond.c...ring-18kt-white-gold

The paved diamonds have a little ridge they are sitting it.  They would be harder to knock out IMO.

Ok, I got my Daussi last night, so you get to see what it looks like on "chunky" fingers, LOL. Look up R3623 on the search function- the center cushion is .65. This one is 6.5, and I am a 6.75-7 in anything thicker. Let's see if I can give posting a photo ONE MORE TRY, before the ever-patient and knowledgeable CGIers give me up as a hopeless case ;

GIAGirl- I saw that one and loved it too! I love all the different styles for different reasons! I agree with you that the pave might be harder to knock out with that setting. I am going to request a hand shot of that one for sure.

Debangel- Your ring is so lovely and looks great on your hand! It is a big help to see how great it looks on your hand bc it looks like we have similarly sized hands.

I have VERY fair skin (super sunburn-y / never even bother with any cosmetics other than whatever foundation/powder is in the most-ultra "fair" tone, and even then the colors are not-infrequently too dark).  One of my favorite rings is made with an N-O-P stone that I bought from a CDI member who had purchased it from David a few years earlier.  I had it set in yellow gold... And it looks FABULOUS on my skin!  (Well, anyway, I happen to think it looks fabulous.)  I also have a "K" stone from David that looks great.

You will know whether or not you like the color when you see the ring in person.  And do not hesitate to buy from David -- If you are not happy, for whatever reason, he will make you happy.  He is all about customer service and satisfaction (and repeat business).  Rest assured that he doesn't waste time writing all these detailed (happy, satisfied) postings himself, under fake usernames.  David is clearly too busy out scouting for lovely, fairly-priced diamonds !

Best wishes on your engagement!

-- Piglette

P.S. Myleft-hand ring size is 6-6.25 / I wear a 7.5 or so on my right hand.  My fingers are relatively large, although I wouldn't say "chubby."  (My wrist is barely over six inches around.)  One carat is... okay.  A carat and a quarter or (better yet) at least 1.75 carats is better.  My "K" from David is a large-looking 1.45 carats, and it is great.

FutureMrs The other rings you are looking at are lovely too-I can see how it is going to be tough to make that final choice Smiley

IF you would like, since the latest 2 rings you are considering have stones with about the same spread as my Daussi and I wear a size 7, I can post a pic of mine if that helps you visualize.

They are old pics-let me go look for some.........
