Don't forget, that one wasn't made by DBL - I believe it was a trade in (David, set me right if I'm wrong).

Do you guys prefer that rounded shank or a straighter sided version like Michi's?  (See pics - hope you don't mind Michi.  Feel free to publicly chastise me if you do.... thewife)

I'm not saying either is possible - just throwing ideas at you.

Hard to say DJ...they are both gorgeous!  It all depends on what the client may prefer.  Some don't like  a diamond studded shank since they can be uncomfortable to them.

I will be looking forward to seeing a non-halo split shank to be added to the DBL collection.  I hope it can be made for all diamond shapes.   I would seriously consider this style for my pear shaped diamond.   ~Ronda

I'll see what's available as a part tomorrow...although my gut feeling is: if we're going to do one with that lovely flair, it might need to be custom made.
If so, which diamond should we start with?
Yellow, white, pink?

Pinklady- THANK you for starting the conversation!

Anytime my Dear.. friends

Are you talking about the diamons in the shank? If so, snow-white in YG. That way you could have both yellow or white diamonds as center stone.

If you are going to try to find a split shank, I would do with all white with a white cushion as the center, just like the Leann Rhimes ring.

If you are going to try the studded shank, I would go with all whites in the shank, and maybe one of those awesome Ecs or intense yellows you have loose now!

BTW, I know that the double halo pear was a DBL creation, but I tried it on in NYC and it was soooo comfortable!  David, if you found something similar it would be awesome, though I could understand how that may have to be a custom job.

I know one of you gals has the picture of that double halo. Would you post it here? I believe it was a yellow pear with a yellow halo and a white halo around that.

Great thread!
I love all your ideas. I still think Leann Rimes' ring is absolutely perfect. Love how it's one thin band and then just splits and flares out to greet the center diamond....  love10

That is what I like about it too.  I like the subtle split better than a split from under the finger on up (does that make sense?).

Hey Guys!
This discussion has led me to a few ideas....
For one, we'll offer "Hal 1", and "Bezel" on any diamond.

I've spoken to the factory, and we can do it for a pretty easy price.
A custom made Hal 1 ( fits any diamond) in 14karat white/yellow, or any combination thereof will have about .40cts, and cost $1125 for DBL clients, and $1500 for stones purchased elsewhere.

I picked up a non halo split shank which is kind of similar, but not really, to the one we've all been oohing and aahing... I'll post photos a bit later in the evening......

Here's the part for a split shank non halo.
It's different from the Celeb ring we've been looking at ina a few ways...
what do you guys think?

I think this split shank is just lovely.

It would be beautiful with white diamonds, and also maybe with half white diamonds and half sapphires?  Might that be nice?

I love bezels.  I think also a three-stone ring with three bezels (or five, like the pink diamond band with the five little stones that's in the "sold" section) would be great.

Hmmm.  Not my cup of tea, sorry!  What I like about the one we were discussing is that it is very dainty and the center diamond sort of rests on top of the setting.  I think this setting overpowers the center stone.  JMHO.

Hi guys!
Robin- we've done a 3 bezel...I believe.....maybe?
Lion- I agree completely that this one has a lot more...."structure" as compared with the other.
Still, do you think we should build it?

David- I do think we should do one. It would be pretty hard to find a casting that is as  "delicate" as what GL is talking about. Not that we won't keep looking.

But I do think we can make a nice ring out of that setting. And I think it's awfully hard to tell when the metal is not polished and the diamond melee is not in place. I've gotten accustomed to seeing the settings this way, though and I do think it has possibilites.

I agree WM...I think it actually looks pretty good so far.   I know it is not as dainty as the other ring, but someone out there will not want something so dainty.    This piece seems built to last and I love the way the split shank curves up to the center stone.   I think what is going to make the setting look killer is how "refined" you make the prongs look.    It would be cool to do some claws(I loooove claws) or heart shaped prongs.    Just a thought.   I definately wouldn't throw this back into the salvage bin.  Wink ~Ronda

I say, and this is just what I think... The ring would be best for a larger center stone w/ this setting. I think it over powers the center stone.

I'm going to PM LCole, as she has a ring similar to the above, sans the taper, maybe that'll give us another perspective...
