Mrs M I am over in Manchester often, so we might be able to arrange something Smiley

As for my whirlwind...it continues.  I actually had the new tattoo done when I was in Denver to see my last show a few weeks ago.  A friend of mine set the appointment up for me as I don't even have time to do that Sad

I will see if I can get a picture of it this morning before I leave on my girl's trip.

And, the zipper is hilarious!

So, all I could do was take a quick couple of shots with the cell phone so they aren't all that clear.  I have less than 2 hours to get laundry done and get packed for the next week and a half...

It is pretty simple so it didn't take too long and while it hurt, since it was quick it wasn't bad.

Oh, and photobucket is acting up so I have to upload these directly.

Luvn I can honestly say I didn`t feel a thing. I had my eyes closed and he was spraying some really cold type of spray onto me but what I didn`t realise was actually piercing at the same time as spraying.
To this day I don`t know why I had it done, there I was passing the studio and I just thought hey that sounds interesting so let`s give it a go.

I may have told this story before, but I had my ears pierced just before my tenth birthday.  (Mom said I had to wait until I was ten, but I badgered her so fiercely that she finally gave in.)  My dad, too, thinks that pierced ears are "cheap," so Mom has never had hers done.  (Unfortunate, because it really reduces the gift-giving options!)

So anyway.  I didn't want my dad to know, so for SEVERAL days, I kept my very long hair brushed forward into a bizarre sort of veil, covering my ears.  Finally, at dinner one evening, my father said, "I know what you've done.  You can fix your hair now."   Grin

I have no idea how long he'd known, and simply amused himself by watching my weird hair-contortions.

I first had mine done when I was about 12, over 40 years ago now and it was done the old painful way. My Mother hit the roof because she`d always said no daughter of hers was ever having pierced ears and when one of my ear lobes turned septic she told me that`s what bad girls got for disobeying their Mothers.
All it taught me was the next time I disobeyed her, to either be quicker, more devious or not to say " ouch " if it went wrong !

ROLF!   I remember how prestigious it use to be to get your ears pierced.   I was 13 at the time.   I had to make an appointment to go to a Drs. house and get them pierced.    Boy have times changed...............     o.k.. showing my age I guess.   LOL!

My daughter is itching to get hers done but I have told her she has to wait until she is older.  I am going to buy an ear piercing gun and do it myself.  I used to do them at the jewelers I worked for so I am not worried about it.  I'd rather do it myself and get them in the right place with the right angle through the ear too.  They should be done right first time as this is something that she will more than likely keep for life.

That and the fact that I am an overly worrisome and controlling mother.......

If you are doing the upper portions of your ears Snooper, stick with needles, guns have a risk of blunt trauma to the cartlidge, and can result in shrinkage...if you want to do the lower parts of your ears, they do have supplies at Sally's Beauty Supplies.

If you google 'ear piercing gun' you will find lots of places to get one.  Like EMJ said, these should only be used for the soft part of your lobe and, trust me, that's the only piercings my little girl will be getting.... Grin
