hello everyone. i was wondering what the difference is between an asscher and a royal asscher price wise. i have tried googling royal asscher retailer and haven't been able to find any jewelers that carry them.  david, do you carry royal asschers? may i see a side by side pic to see the difference? david     clock

I think Royal Asschers have a very specific cut & actually have that cut copyrighted. A non-branded Asscher is very similar, but the cut isn't exactly the same----and they're less expensive.

Here are some pics----there is a whole page about Asschers on www.diamondsbylauren.com

#1 Royal Asscher
#2 Non-branded Asscher
#3 Non-branded Asscher

David would have to tell you about prices though......that I'm not sure on.

Hi Everyone!
Branded Royal Asschers range from 50% higher on up. If you could find a 2carat E/Internally Flawless branded stone, it could be double the price of ours.
We did carry a few of them a while back. We stopped offering them because of the price.

As Foxy's post shows ( thanks foxy!) you can see that the non branded stones can look very much like a branded.
Foxy mentioned "copyright" ... but it's really not possible to protect the cut of a diamond in that way.
If one wanted to cut to the same proportions it would still be possible to change a small detail making to slightly different.

Hope this helps!
