Namtam, you have the loveliest hands! ANY ring would look absolutely stunning on those killer fingers.  And, of course, your ring is exquisite. Certainly, there is absolutely no issue in my mind regarding color OR size! This is a beauty everyone will notice from across the room. Crystal clear and sparkly... so sensational.  bliss

Since I'm up late tonight. Both DH and baby already asleep. I have sometime to post my other piece.  Grin

Here is my butterfly pendent. I got the idea from tiffany victoria pendent but I think it will look nicer with 2 pear at the top instead of marquise diamonds.
I wear it very often.

I was thinking about yellow butterfly from these R2777, 0.97 fancy  intense yellow pear.  Evil Not for near future though.

Do you think wearing 2 butterfly pendent (one white one yellow) at the same time look...... too crazy??

I also like the new round light brown_pink? and the gorgeous D radiant with intense yellow half moon.

so many wishlist so little $$

The ring looks fantastic on you, Namtan!  I would never imagine that it's a J from looking at the photos.  I really like the proportions of the ring.

I also really like your butterfly pendant.  It seems like something you could happily wear every day, and that is a huge plus in my book!  Beautiful!

I think the two pendants would look fantastic together (or one at a time). Go for it!

Oh Namtan, I'm sorry for being late to the party, but I did see this a few days ago.  Stunning.  Stunning.  It's incredible - and considering the price of the centre stone it's a lot of sparkle on your hand.  Do you have a small finger size? (I'm trying to guess what a 3/4 stone would look like on my fingers, which are not as elegant as yours by half).

I've looked at this many many time in the last few days - you must be thrilled, it truly is a work of art.  Stunning.  I think I said that already, but it's got that wow factor.

And I love the butterfly pendant - I think you need (need mind, not want) the yellow pears for another pendant.  I don't think it would look to crazy wearing them both - how could you choose between them, after all!

Those pears are quite lovely!  I have to admit I look at them quite a lot.  I wondered about making them into drop earrings but they'd make a stunning butterfly necklace as well.  And your ring . . . it is beautiful!  It turned out so well.  Congratulations!

Hi all  Sad

I just got back the asscher ring yesterday after I had it resize with local jeweler.
Now it fit perfectly but I think the ring look a bit asymmetry from the side view. Not much but enough to bother me.

This thing happen to you guys when you resize the ring? Last time I resize my ER at this jeweler they did execlent job.

I call them and they said will fix it for me but I don't want them to do it again. Afraid they will make it worst

David, could you please fix it for me if I had a chance to send it to you some day.

Namtan, I'm sorry to hear about your ring troubles. I KNOW that David will make it right for you. If you can bear to part with it, I'd send your ring back to David as soon as you can.  You'll feel so much better once your precious baby is PERFECT.

Wow! How did I miss these updates?? Namtan, that is one fabulous Asscher ring you got! I thought it looks great in the blown up photos but on your finger, it looks even more spectacular!

But what exactly went wrong with the resizing?

Hi All!

Namtan- I am so sorry to hear about the re-size problem!

We offer free lifetime size adjustment for just these reasons.
Adjusting the finger size is not the most difficult job, but if it's not done properly the results can spoil the look of the ring!

Not to worry though- I have no doubt whatsoever that we can repair it so it fits perfectly and there will be no evidence of the work at all.
Besides leaving the ring out of round, another concern is that care needs to be taken so that the place where the ring was cut to adjust it is properly finished so that it's not obvious that the ring was adjusted for size.

Namtan, I'll be back at the office on Monday, please email me ( contact@diamondsbylauren.com) and we'll arrange t a return shipment to fix it if you wish.

Thanks T, that exactly what I thing.

David, you are the best. But I'm not ready to part with the  4 yet. Just good to hear that you will be able to fix this  whenever I'm ready. Probably at the time I want a new  radiant bling bling piece from you. Grin

DiamondHunter, Congratulations on your engagement!
"SO ME" is the best respond one can get.
I know that you're thinking about resizing your ring too.

What went wrong with my ring is exactly what David said it leaving the ring out of round.
It seems like they cut it at the bottom and push one side of the ring to make it smaller. So one side of the ring is still round but the other is not as round.  Difficult to explain. Hope you get the idea.
I had it resized  at only about .25 size. I think the main problem is that local jeweler here, in Thailand, is not use to the shape of the ring like this. The shank of my ring is thicker and the shape from the side is different than most of the ring made here.

So I think you should pick the jeweler who use to work on the similar model with your ring if you decide to resized it locally. But if you want the safer option you'd better ship it to David.

Amen to that, Nantam.

Nobody can resize a ring like the factory that created it, or is conversant with that type of piece.  In DH's case, David has sold DAUSSI ring for as long as I've been around.  His techs know  that style inside and out.

Sorry to hear that the re-sizing work wasn't so great. I hope you can have David fix it, but I understand the hassle with international shipping.

I'm maybe a little paranoid here, but if it's out of round, you might just want to double check that the stones are still secure. Little tip I learned from Diamond Junkie - tap the base of the ring firmly (but gently) on a table or counter and listen to see if there is any rattle from a loose stone. I'm sure it's fine, but you might just want to check. I had this problem with a ring after it was sized and not quite round.

Oh, and I love the idea of a yellow butterfly with these gorgeous pears. That would be beautiful with or without your white butterfly (which is also beautiful, btw).

What a shame about the ring!!  The good news is that David can fix it like brand new.  I won't let anyone other than David resize my rings, even if it takes longer.  I don't trust any of the jewelers around me after several unpleasant experiences.  Here's one of the stories I posted on another thread:  http://coloreddiamon...e/msg95308/#msg95308

Namtam, don't let anyone other than David work on your precious ring!

Best,

Thanks all for your concern.
Jen, I did what you told. The stones are perfectly secure  Smiley

The reason I won't send the ring to David because beside the hassle with international shipping, I not sure about taxing issue.
If I read the info right, importing a diamond ring will be taxed at 60% of the price!!!!!!!!. Huh?
That is why I can buy a ring form DBL only when I have someone in the US to carry it back for me.

Mikla, I read your story. It was scary. That is exactly why I won't have it fixed at the local jeweler even they told me on the phone that they will fix it for me. Because the asymmetrical thing that I saw is minimal , I afraid they won't even see what went wrong.

Well, if the stones are secure, that's great. I'd hate for anything to happen to one of them! I was fretting about it lol. Glad it's ok.

I understand the issues with shipping, since I live in the UK. Tax on jewelry imports is round about 20% of value here. Not too bad unless you buy something very expensive. Then it adds up. There's a form to fill in here, if you're sending an item overseas for repair. If you submit it to the tax office in advance, with proof of ownership and shipping, it exempts you from paying import tax again when the item is returned to you.

Might be worth looking into it, in case there's a similar arrangement where you live? I haven't had to send anything to David for repair or sizing yet, but I'd hate to pay tax twice, for sure!

Hi All!

Actually, we've always been able to bypass the customs charges on a repair like this using the methods Jen described.
